NEW RESOLUTION ON ELECTRICITY METERS INSTALLED FOR CONSUMERS TO BE ADOPTED

The procedure for connecting business entities to electrical networks will be simplified and measures to further improve the business environment will be adopted. The draft of the relevant resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers has been published for discussion.

From January 1, 2020, JSC "Regional Electric Networks" will be designated as the sole authorized body for metrological verification of electricity meters installed for consumers, and all verification costs will be covered by electricity supply organizations at their own expense.

The metering device verification interval is ten years.

Consumers have the right to independently verify their metering devices at metrological services. In this case, the electricity supply organization is obliged to remove, install, seal and register the electricity metering device free of charge at the consumer's request.
